Juvenescere: Annual Philosophy Fest 2022 (Inter College)
Under the able guidance of the Principal Prof. (Dr.) Anita Kaushal and Dr. Ambuj Sharma, Head, Department of Philosophy, the Department of Philosophy of Post Graduate Government College for Girls, Sector-11, Chandigarh, organized Juvenescere: Annual Philosophy Fest 22 (Inter-College) on the theme “Freewill and Determinism” on 12 April, 2022. Eight Colleges from Chandigarh participated in the nine various competitions.
The event began with a presidential address and formal welcome by the presidents of the Philosophical Society, Ms Tanvi Chauhan and Sheereen Khan. Following this, Sudiksha and Megha were called upon to introduce a dance performance and to moderate debate competition. Amonst the students who participated, Avantika Sharma (MCM-DAV College for Women), Shraddha (DSCW) and Tanisha (MCM-DAV College for Women), stood first, second and third respectively. Next, Bharti and Simran anchored poetry recitation and poetry writing. For poetry recitation, Pakhi (GCCBA-50), Anjali (PGGCG-11) and Yashvi (DAVC) were awarded first, second and third position respectively. Further for poetry writing, Sudiksha (PGGCG-11) stood first, Ashish (DAV) stood second and Kushika (MCM-DAV College for Women) stood third. Hence after, Banita and Pooja handled the stage to introduce solo dance competition in which Rupanshi (PGGCG-11), Jasmine (MCM-DAV College for Women) and Om (GCCBA-50) were awarded with first, second and third position. Furthermore, in group dance competition, which was moderated by Sakshi and Neetu, Nandini and team (PGGCG-11) stood first. Thereafter, in photography competition, Surbhi Mehta (MCM-DAV College for Women), Hardik Sharma (GCCBA-50) and Reya (PGGCG-11), stood first, second and third. Following, in solo song competition, which was anchored by Kinjal and Greta, Jyoti, Amarpali (MCM-DAV College for Women) and Rachit (GCCBA-50), were awarded positions. In poster making competition, the position holders were Shivani (PGGCG-11), Ginni (GCCBA-50) and Anubha (MCM-DAV College for Women). Lastly, in the group song competition, Barkha and team (PGGCG-11) were declared first, Amarpali and team (MCM-DAV College for Women) were second. On the occasion the students of the College also performed Ladakhi dance, Gidda, Manipuri dance, poetries etc. Chief Guest Madam prof. Anita Kaushal, Principal and also the chief guest of the function felicitated the students. In her address she appreciated the initiative of the Department of Philosophy and congratulated all the students and faculty for making it a grand success. Dr. Ambuj Sharma, Head, Department of Philosophy along the Presidents of the Philosophical Society extended the vote of thanks.
