Film Screening "Ankho Dekhi" followed by Discussion

Study reports show that visual forms of learning are way better than just auditory forms, according to theories, the more senses used the better. There have been debates and discussions amongst educationists to engage movies and videos into the education systems as a new method of teaching. Department of Philosophy arranged a screening and discussion of the award-winning film “Aankhon Dekhi” directed by award-winning Director Rajat Kapoor. The above-mentioned movie revolves around the concept of a man who decides to buy information and incidents that take place in front of his eyes and things that seem rational and sound to him. The purpose of screening the film was to evoke the inheld irrationalities and the lack of awareness and consciousness of doing things that we do. The movie screening took place in collaborations with the Department of French, Sanskrit and Sociology. This multi-departmental event was a first-ever event it was something that triggered the thought process of every individual who sat there. The screening ended with a long and precise discussion where students of different subjects presented their views on the movie, their take on the movie and what they found intriguing. Philosophers Meet

It is so rightly said that an institution is created by students moreover the thoughts and views they have, purvey how strong the foundation will be and how it will impact the society. Its easier said than done, but the Department of Philosophy never fails to make an exception, the Department organized a meet and greet for the students of all the three years of the batch of 2017-19 on 12^th April, 2019 at the Department of Philosophy, PGGCG-11, Chandigarh. And not only was it a meet and greet it was an interactive session where students of all the three years discussed about their views on life, philosophy and how it influences life. Students reviewed how they pitched upon philosophy and not only that, the Head of the Department, Author and Assistant Professor of Philosophy, Dr Ambuj Sharma gave his wise words on life, success and career. All in all, it was a great learning experience.
